CARLOS BEE PARK in Castro Valley

To get to Carlos Bee Park from San Francisco, take 101 south to the San Mateo Bridge (toward Hayward). After crossing the bay, stay on 92 which will become "Jackson" then "Foothill Blvd." Stay on Foothill till you reach "City Center Dr." As you can see on the map, City Center Drive loops back to Foothill. There is an apartment complex up the hill that has a fenced off parking lot. However, if you walk to the left of the fence, you can get into the park. Walk past the tennis courts and look for rocks where the asphalt road veers to the left. Dave lives behind the rocks (see photo below). During the day he may be out on City Center Drive where he has a couple of favorite benches. If you run into other homeless people in the park, ask about him.
